ADC Factional Chairman Nafiu Bala Refutes Claims of Threat to Life

Share

The factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafi’u Bala, has dismissed claims that he expressed regret over his role in the party’s internal crisis.

Bala also denied reports circulating online that his life was under threat, describing them as false and misleading.

The former ADC governorship candidate in Gombe State was earlier quoted as saying he did not expect the internal disagreements within the party to escalate to their current level, allegedly adding that he regretted his involvement and feared for his safety.

However, in a statement released on Sunday, Bala refuted the claims, calling the report “false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to damage my integrity.”

He stressed that he neither granted any interview nor authorised anyone to speak on his behalf regarding the matter.

Bala explained that his actions during the party’s leadership dispute followed due process, particularly after the resignation of former National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, on July 2, 2025.

He further rejected suggestions that he had expressed regret or attempted to distance himself from the crisis, insisting that such claims are entirely untrue.

“I have not instructed anyone, including the individual mentioned in the publication, to make statements on my behalf. Such claims should be disregarded,” he said.
